Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Travel to customer locations and maintain batteries as required.

Service Writer

Job Title: Service Writer

Department: Service

Job Type: (Full-time, non- exempt, Monday to Fridays, no nights/ weekends)

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develops and sells customer quotes for parts & service
  • Dispatches technicians and processes service paperwork.
  • Responsible for processing warranties according to their policies and procedures including Toyota, Starlift, Cascade, and other brands.
  • Creates repair quotes for customers based on technician requests, completed work orders and PMs, and incoming customer calls.
  • Utilizes the Toyota and TVH parts systems to look up parts.
  • Utilizes the Toyota warranty flat rate manual or “Quick Quote” spreadsheet for labor hour quote times.
  • Calls customers and presents quotes, obtains purchase orders, and follows up after the repair to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinates with transportation to pick up and deliver customer units and necessary rentals.
  • Communicates with technicians, service supervision, and CSS to coordinate repairs.
  • Monitors repair progress, and communicates changes of cost or completion dates to both the customer and CSS.
  • Track quotes, sales, and quote time frames in the daily service writer reports.
  • Miscellaneous other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of forklift parts or comparable experience
  • Experience in forklift maintenance procedures
  • Ability to read, understand, and process work orders
  • Experienced in Microsoft office, Word, and Excel
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. unaided

Sales Consultant

Job Title: Sales Consultant

Department: Sales

Job Type: Full-time, Exempt

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Grow parts, service and rental sales volume and expand the customer base by selling new and used equipment in Los Angeles county
  • Develop annual business plan and goals. Provide monthly updates on achievements versus goals. Exceed all annual sales goals and expectations.
  • Be an effective business partner to customers and prospects by understanding their business needs and striving to exceed customer expectations; promote TMHS as a “solutions provider” to the customer/prospects.
  • Actively solicit new business through cold calling. Qualify all leads within 12 hours. Answer emails and voice mails within 4 hours.
  • Work up new equipment quotes in Toyota’s SAP system. Exceed the designated minimum number of quotes per month, as set by management.
  • Promote and sell Toyota 360 Support Plus plans; as well as, TMHS, Preventative Maintenance, Guaranteed Maintenance and Vehicle Management System (VMS) Guaranteed Maintenance.
  • Understand and present financial merchandising solutions, prepare credit applications and product surveys; and evaluate off-lease and trade-in equipment.
  • Utilize Microsoft Dynamics CRM to manage contacts and leads, prospects, call activity, quotes, sales documentation, internal communications, post-sale follow-up, surveys and lost orders
  • Manage Toyota’s Customer Satisfaction Program (CSP) survey verification process, meeting or exceeding the 11-day verification requirement.
  • Keep close contact with customers to troubleshoot issues and help ensure positive survey results
  • Utilize available technology to be a more effective and efficient resource to TMHS, its customers and prospects
  • Ensure professional development by participating in Toyota Material Handling training
  • Be open to coaching by your Vice President of Sales and other TMHS managers

Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent; College preferred
  • 3+ years of material handling industry knowledge and outside sales skills experience required
  • Strong computer skills including intermediate skills in Microsoft Office 365 Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams; plus, a working knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Dynamics CRM and DocuSign
  • Strong financial merchandizing skills
  • Strong written and oral communication, organizational and time/territory management skills
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented personality and ability to work independently with minimal personal supervision.
  • Must be able to work long hours, sometimes 10-12 hours a day
  • Valid CA driver’s license with good driving record.

Job Title: Outside Sales Consultant (Motive Power)

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Development of business new to Toyota Material Handling Solutions while also expanding product and service offerings into existing customer accounts.
  • Meet or exceed reasonable and attainable sales goals: As set by company for the region.
  • Be a student of an ever-changing industry and market strategy involving: Motive Power product lines, emerging EPA and CARB regulatory changes, and service programs for storage battery solutions.
  • Solutions based selling strategy. We are not a manufacturers rep. you will have the opportunity to sell as a true consultant to your customers. Toyota Material Handling Solutions is an independent value-added reseller.
  • Work closely with the operations team to execute your service solutions. You will need to be available with a high level of communication.
  • Negotiate service contracts.
  • Being organized and detail oriented are key to success. You will have to create your own quotes and manage your sales funnel
  • Provide the company procurement team with market feedback including competitors pricing, products, and programs.
  • Attend occasional tradeshows and customer events.
  • You must physically be able to site walk industrial facilities wearing necessary PPE including fire retardant clothing, hard hat, eye and ear protection, steel toe boots.
  • You must have a customer service spirit.
  • Adhere to company travel & expense policies. We understand you have to spend money to make money, but expenses should be managed with a conservative application.

Field Service Technician

Job Title: Field Service Technician

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ability to communicate with customers both in-house and in the field
  • Ability to determine whether work should be done in-field or in-house
  • Repair gasoline, LPG, electric or diesel-powered forklifts.
  • Make repairs as needed including replacing worn or broken parts, adjusting brakes, tightening body bolts, aligning wheels, etc.
  • Lubricate vehicle and perform other duties in connection with maintenance and operation of lift truck, as required.
  • Perform manual labor, as needed, such as heavy lifting and operating power equipment.
  • Inform supervisor of maintenance problems as they arise.
  • Complete paperwork, as needed, to open and/or close work orders.
  • Attend technical classes/training when offered by management.
  • Practice safe work habits.
  • Keep van clean. Report any vehicle problems to your supervisor.

  • Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, sitting, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
  • Must be able to physically operate power machinery, use hand tools, use air compressor tools, band saw and department grinder, steam cleaner, and parts washer machines,
  • Must be able to physically lift 50 pounds unaided.

  • Will be expected to drive (company van/gas provided) to TMHS customer sites. Sites vary over the general Los Angeles area

  • Own your own tools and tool box
  • Must be able to write and spell english clearly and correctly
